Go
No, I won’t stop you
Not because I don’t want you
But because I don’t know how to keep you
I wear my “don’t approach” like a shield
And I’ve succeeded in pushing you away
So go
I’ll live behind my wall
Going on with my mind intact
And my heart in shreds

Wow. A knockout. I can relate, and I love the way you wrote this. The word “go” is the knock out, the way you used it. Thank you.
My heart is in shreds too. Jesus Christ, everything sucks sometimes. (Not your poem, life.)

What you need is the man who won’t listen when you tell him to go…or ignores the hell out of you when you push him away…not saying you should go on a man hunt for him, but recognize that when you find him, he won’t go…
… and I will go.
because that is, as far as I can gather,
what you want.
looking back though…
wondering …
wanting.
