Tipping

A duel purpose post. The Sunday Whirl providing the words and Five Sentence Fiction the prompt.

Prompt: Edge

I’m on it. Teetering, tottering
A sigh away from tumbling off it
Over the threshold into oblivion
It’ll welcome me in

A release of control
I am bold in this fall
Superseding my might, my mind
My skeptical understanding of life

As I unwind
Fall fast, fast, faster
Into that ninth plane of thinking
Finally hitting the bottom I’ve too often avoided

I’m saturated, overwhelmed by the descent
Heady from the hit
Sliced by the sword’s blade of passing air
Dizzy from lack of breath, brain, mind long gone

That change in thinking
That tip toe to the brink
That slight step forward brought me here
Brought me up, over, and forever out of myself

And I am thankful for the fall

I like how you were able to combine the words and prompt together.

I like the description in this passage:

I’m saturated, overwhelmed by the descent
    Heady from the hit
Sliced by the sword’s blade of passing air
Dizzy from lack of breath, brain, mind long gone
