The Butters #SexToyReview

Look… I’m going to be as upfront as I can out the gate. I’m not a sex toy reviewer. If I can just get a blog posted once a week anymore, well then I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. Really, I missed my calling when it comes to reviewing because all the free products, but I’m just not that dedicated or focused enough for the task of product reviews. 

So why today’s post if I’m not a reviewer? I don’t know. I guess I got a wild hair and was feeling frisky when Jerome Nichols from ltasex.com emailed asking if I’d review. 

The thing that made it easier was not only was the lube (neatly named The Butters) good, but the business is POC owned and operated. That alone deserves support when the current climate isn’t doing much to lift up people of color in business. Or at all really. 

So let’s talk about the product.

The Butters was created as a solution to three problems in my life: chronic ashiness, dry hair, and most importantly, a lack of quality lube made for the sex I have. There are lots of products that solve the first two well enough, but I’ve never found a lube that’s beneficial to every orifice, non-toxic, plays well with lots of toy materials, won’t stain sheets, tastes good, is pregnancy-safe, and carries a reasonable price. 

I am a hardcore, devout coconut user in my everyday life. And the last sexual encounter I had we used coconut oil for lube. Bad part of using that is it does stain sheets and won’t come out. The Butters passes does well in that it goes on smooth, and eases the way for cock or toy. I didn’t notice any sheet stains, but I’d advice caution with any lube until you’re sure. 

Sensitive skin and lady parts is an issue for me. The pH changes in my vagina at the drop of a hat. My biggest worry was burning, chaffing after long term use, and it really bothering the bits. It applied easy, felt good, and didn’t make me feel like things were on fire. 

And NO strange smell. 

I tend to try lubes and discard them just as quickly. The Butters actually has the ability to be interested into my sexy play with ease. 

Ingredients:

Pure organic aloe vera fillet gel, raw grade a golden ghanaian shea butter, pure coconut oil, pure extra virgin olive oil, pure grapeseed oil, pure palm kernel oil, pure soy lipid emulsion, apple cider vinegar, arrowroot gel. 

A 2oz tub starts at around $3 if you’re interested in sampling. And you’re not restricted to just sex play. Hair, skin, tattoo care are other possible uses listed on site.
