Haven’t done any poetry in a while. Prompt from Five Sentence Fiction and words from The Sunday Whirl.
Prompt: Accident
—
The deep cut should’ve been my clue as the visions danced like bright fairies before my eyes
I quickly became a nebulous thing, red blood dripping, my spirit hovering above my prone body
Opaque breath in this spirit realm, this place I never meant to go, a bleak moment caused by my terrible timing
A torch of light beckons me higher, away from my greying form that I can’t get back to, that I can’t even touch
The crush of my mistake, a knife plunged too deep, carrying me away from the promise that is the rest of my life

Delightfully written.

Depressing in a way, but how many people have killed themselves by accident? Definite miscalculation on this person’s part.
Only five sentences yet I’m so envious at how well you wrote this. Love it Cara 🙂

Thanks! Sometimes only being able to write 5 sentences improves my writing.
You know it’s good when you can hear the words…
