Down The Rabbit Hole

Working title for the Five Sentence Fiction saga that is Terry’s existence. You can read what’s up so far here.

Prompt: Whisper

The room took on a hazy feeling as he sat up in the bed, his arousal flagging to half mast under the fear flooding his veins.

“What do you mean, ‘My secret’,” he called out, his words echoing louder in his head than in the vacant room.

The lack of a response didn’t bother him, but the hollowness of his voice sent a shiver of fright through him.

Rising from the bed, Terry tried pulling the purple sheets around his body, but they refused to budge from the feather mattress, leaving him vulnerable in the perfumed room.

“Clothe yourself,” that silky voice whispered across his mind, continuing on to say, “make your magic cover you.”

A little torn about this one.
On the one hand it’s very intriguing and opens very well.
On the other hand I was not too crazy about line 2 and the final line didn’t make sense to me. Perhaps the reference was lost on me or something.
