Keeping It Moving

I’ve moved.

I want to continue building some kind of readership for my writing, but not with the situation I’m currently in. So I’ve changed a few things.

First: I have a new site. A reminder to watch what I say to whom.

Second: I am Cara Thereon. Your friendly neighborhood struggling writer

Hopefully I can enact these changes with minimum consequences, but we’ll see. Having blogged as long as I have, I’ve gotten used to a certain amount of openness. It’s about connecting with readers through my writing, and that’s how it should remain. It sucks rebuilding, but sometimes a fresh start is best.

I’ll go on, but I’ll be much more careful about things.

Thanks for finding me.

Yea, I figured a move was smarter than shutting everything down. The family member in question will really have to look to find me. I still get to pursue the things I enjoy. Thanks for hanging with me.

So this is how one goes about changing their blog identity! I’ve been thinking about changing my name here as well.

I’m sorry that some people have to be jerks and ruin our days! They will never stop us though Miss!

It’s a whole different site, whole different username. Not even connected to the previous one. This is a do over in every way. The only person who will stop me is myself and I have to keep going. πŸ™‚

Sometimes I’m in awe of people who share their blogs with people, other times I cringe. You just never know what someone will think/do/say one day. They might be cool with it at first, but then change their mind. I had two old blogs and I made the mistake with both of them of sharing. Never, ever again, no matter what. I will have to gain momentum for my writing and my readership the hard way: anonymously and via the internet only. God, how I wish I could hand out my cards!

Anyway, best of luck to you, Cara (that’ll take getting used to!). Keep on keepin’ on!! xx Hy

I’ve decided that I can’t even tell me friends (the supportive ones) about it. I don’t want to give anyone any leeway or ammo for causing me trouble. At this point, I’ve invited those from WordPress that I know who care. Anyone else will just have to find their way here by chance. Hopefully i can still connect with readers.

No more personal information, just writing here. I have another site to talk freely. Lesson learned.

Yes yes and yes. Never tell anyone. Unless you’re “out” and want to be, there’s no point. I’m always nervous about disclosure. Good luck this go around, though! I got your back πŸ™‚

I keep my blogs separate – so far it seems to work fine. I also have a Facebook identity for my erotic writing and one for my family and old friends. Sorry to hear you’ve had some trouble. x

I made the mistake of not switching blogs when I started pursuing writing. It made it much easier for me to be tracked down by persistent people. I’m hoping this change fixes things.
